Adult material.
Cablan.net has no objections to legal adult material.
However, the companies we normally do business with do not accept adult material on their server.
If you plan to host adult material such as :
 | pornographic or erotic pictures,

| pictures showing nudity,
|
| erotic or pornographic texts or informations,
|
| material otherwise forbiden to minors. |
You should contact us first. We do have plans allowing for adult material, however, the prices and features are different than our standard plans.
Failure to notify will result in a violation of the Acceptable Usage Policy.
Copyrighted material.
To post something on your website, you need to have the right to do so.
Generally speaking, you have the right to post something if :
| you are the author of the material,
|
| the author as released the material as being public domain,
|
| the copyright on the material is expired,
|
| you have purchased a license from the author,
|
| you have otherwise a written proof that you have the right to post it. |
Be careful, a picture on a website is NOT necessarly public domain. A text posted on a newsgroup first is generally considered public domain, unless it was published earlier.
As such, you cannot copy text or images from other websites, books, newspaper, etc... without autorization.
This includes commercial MP3s, books and movies, even if you own a copy.
You may host MP3s, if you prouve that you hold the copyright or have the approval to do so.
Illegal content.Any content which is illegal to display in Canada or in the United States is not accepted on our server.
This notably includes :
child pornography,
cracks or serial number of commercial softwares,
information about certain criminal activities,
restricted informations, such as transcript of confidential trials in Canada.
Prohibilted scripts.Certain scripts are prohibited such as :
IRC bots,
IRC servers or relayers,
scripts indexing external pages,
scripts accessing pages or directories on the server but outside his account space.
Usage of such scripts is risking having his account suspended or terminated.
