.INFO/.CC/.TV.

These three domains extensions can be registered by anyone, similiarly to the .com/.net/.org domain names.

 

 

.INFO domain names are a new generic top level domain extension, which works in the same way as .COM domain names.

 

Anyone can register a .INFO domain name.

 

You can register a .INFO domain name with Cablan.net for only 20$ canadian per year.

 

Please note that new .INFO domain names must be registered for a minimum 2 year period.

 

In fact, if purchased with hosting, Cablan.net will register it for 2 years, but only invoice the second year when the hosting renewal is due.

 

 

.CC domain names work exactly like .COM domain names, but have a different origin.

 

.COM was always planified to be a generic top level domain name to be used by anyone in the world.

 

However. .CC domain names were originally reserved for the inhabitants of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, a tiny island of 700 citizens near Australia.

In exchange for the installation of a new higher techology telecomunication system, the Coco Islands leases the rights over their domain names to an American company which makes money by selling domain names.

 

.CC domain names work exactly the same way as .COM domain names however.

 

You can register a .CC domain name with Cablan.net for only 50$ canadian per year.

.TV domain names are similiar to .CC domain names.

 

.TV refers to Tuvalu, another island in the pacific with around 1000 inhabitants.

 

Verisign, the company which now owns Network Solutions, the company which originally managed the .COM/.NET/.ORG domain names, signed an agreement with the government of Tuvalu in order to have the rights to manage their domain names.

.TV domain names can be registered by anyone in the world in the same way as .COM domain names.

 

However, there is a difference : several domain names are classified as being "premium" and cost an higher price.
