Less expensive than a full dedicated server, a semi-dedicated server is more powerful than a VPS because you are guaranteed only 1 other Cablan.net client will be installed on your server and that there are no actual limite to your CPU usage.
What is a Semi-Dedicated server ?
Cablan.net pioneered the Semi-Dedicated server concept in 2003 by allowing pairs of clients to share a dedicated server, splitting the server costs in two between them.
Unlike a VPS, you do not have an actual limit on RAM usage. If you temporarily need all of the 2GB of the server memory, you will be able to. You still need to use only 50% of the server's CPU and RAM usage, but there are no enforced limits.
You can also upgrade your Monthly Bandwidth and your Webspace for a fraction of the cost of our shared hosting plans, unlike many VPS vendors which require you to upgrade you actual VPS plan.
When ordering a Semi-Dedicated server, you either get placement on an existing half-used semi-dedicated server, or get placed on a new empty server. At any time, you can upgrade your existing Semi-Dedicated server by simply doubling your monthly costs, thereby purchasing both halves of your server.
